Microphone History:
The Teladi company was founded in Düsseldorf in 1932. With the development and production of loudspeaker systems and electronic devices, Teladi Elektroakustik quickly established itself as a medium-sized company in the market.
In 1946 Teladi built their first car radio for Volkswagen. The device can also be operated outside the car using a 220V mains supply.
In 1947, Teladi Elektroakustik developed and built everyday, affordable condenser microphones of studio quality. Well-known personalities of the time, such as Heinz Erhardt, used Teladi microphones.
Today, Teladi Elektroakustik is still in existance but no longer makes microphones. Teladi now develops and manufactures voice alarm control panels and electroacoustic emergency warning systems according to , as well as school and active shooter alarm systems and peripheral devices.
Technical Description:
The K120 from Teladi is a small end address tube condenser microphone with a medium sized nickel plated diaphragm. It employs a two stage amplifier based around an ECC82 twin triode, with a mute switch built into the microphone.
There is no output transformer in the microphone itself. A bried mention in Audio magazine in 1957 shows the transformer located in the plug that connects to the transfomer, which would be a neat way to change the output impedance between high and low impedance. We have yet to confirm this.
