Microphone History:

Philmore Manufacturing was founded in 1921 in Rockford, Illinois. Originally known as Ajax Products, it changed its name to Philmore in 1925. The brand became well known for crystal radio receiver kits, Morse code telegraph kits, and consumer electronics parts.

Between 1930 - 1950 philmore produced, power-free crystal radio sets (such as the "Little Wonder") that allowed hobbyists and youths to listen to local AM broadcasts.

Philmore later expanded into manufacturing a line of televisions alongside radio tubes and early electronic components.
